I don't know if there is such a thing as post grind, but it is exactly what comes to my mind when listening to this album. Being firmly and undeniably rooted in grind, Unfurl amplify their music with influences from various other genres, including post hardcore, post rock and black metal. Don't let that deter you, as The Waking Void does not once tΜ΅aΜ΅sΜ΅tΜ΅eΜ΅ sound like a stale, musical bouillabaise! It will cleave your skull cap in one moment to mend the wound in the next. Hideously beautiful!
