I really like this band, they got such a sludgetastic coolness about them. TORPOR swagger in between sludge, metal, doom and post metal with ease as if they've been writing this fantastic noise forever. Found another fave band of mine.

I don't know if there is such a thing as post grind, but it is exactly what comes to my mind when listening to this album. Being firmly and undeniably rooted in grind, Unfurl amplify their music with influences from various other genres, including post hardcore, post rock and black metal. Don't let that deter you, as The Waking Void does not once t̵a̵s̵t̵e̵ sound like a stale, musical bouillabaise! It will cleave your skull cap in one moment to mend the wound in the next. Hideously beautiful!
